For eight years, Richard Roeper was the co-host of the nationally syndicated “Ebert & Roeper” program. Roeper is currently the co-host of the “Roe & Roeper” show on WLS-AM. It is the highest–rated talk show of any kind in any time slot in Chicago.
He also reviews movies for ReelzChannel, the Chicago Sun-Times and on his site, Richard Roeper. The website, launched in February 2009, features movie reviews, blog entries about politics, sports and movies, photos and Twitter entries. In December 2009, he launched a video section, with on-camera reviews of movies.
As writer for the Chicago Sun-Times, Roeper has won numerous honors including the National Headliner Award as the best columnist in the country. He has written eight books, on topics ranging from Hollywood flops to gambling in America to urban legends.
He won three Emmy awards for his news commentaries on Fox in the 1990s, and was the film critic for CBS in Chicago for three years in the early 2000s.
Roeper has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Nightline, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Entourage, Top Chef, Regis and Kelly and dozens of other programs. His columns have been syndicated by the New York Times to publications around the world. Roeper has written for a number of magazines, including Esquire, Spy, TV Guide, Playboy, Maxim and Entertainment Weekly. He was once selected as one of People Magazine’s Most Eligible Bachelors, to which he responded, “I’m also eligible for the NBA draft. Doesn’t mean anyone is going to pick me.”
